There are three types of the pattern in this breed. The tobiano – with spots on the back and chest and with white legs; the overo – with irregular scattered markings and bald face; all other patterns or “tovero,” which combines the features of the tobiano and overo.

This breed is characterized by a short body, strong bone, refined neck and head and beautiful coat pattern. The coat combines white color with a great variety of other common colors: bay, black, brown, chestnut, sorrel, palomino, roan and gray.
