This breed developed in the USA probably from the Chickasaws taken from the Indians. It is the oldest type of horses in this country. The motherland of the breed is the southwestern part of the country, such as Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. There are many warmblood breeders, but a buyer should be very careful when choosing a breeder.
